Recently, at the launch event of the BIM Application Handbook 2025, a significant milestone in promoting digital transformation in Vietnam’s construction industry, numerous experts, leaders, and scholars from government agencies, businesses, and universities gathered to witness and discuss the vision for BIM implementation. This publication was developed on the basis of collaboration among stakeholders in the industry, aiming to create a guide that is both theoretically sound and practically applicable to support BIM deployment in construction projects.

Introduction to the BIM Application Handbook 2025
The BIM Application Handbook 2025 systematically compiles principles, methods, and practical experience in BIM implementation across all project stages: from project planning and design to construction and operational management. The publication serves the practical needs of the industry community, including investors, design units, contractors, facility management organizations, and state management authorities.
The launch event was attended by representatives from construction regulatory agencies, leading industry experts, corporate leaders, universities, and media organizations. The ceremony underscored the commitment to disseminate, standardize, and promote the practical application of BIM in Vietnam’s construction sector.

Alongside the Real Estate Business Law, the handbook affirms the importance of BIM in project management, operational management, and smart urban development.

BIM Application Handbook 2025 — Aligning with the Legal Framework of Vietnam’s Construction Industry
In conjunction with the Construction Law, the publication by the Construction Publishing House reflects efforts to promote digital transformation and project management using BIM technology, in line with government directives toward 2025.
IICM’s Contribution through Co-Authors
The Institute of Integrated Construction Management (IICM) is proud to have multiple members serve as co-authors of this handbook. Their participation demonstrates IICM’s research capacity, dedication, and responsibility toward BIM development in Vietnam.

Specifically, IICM contributors as co-authors and editorial board members include:
-
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thế Quân
-
Dr. Nguyễn Bảo Ngọc
-
MSc. Ngô Văn Yên
-
MSc. Nguyễn Thế Tuấn
-
MSc. Lưu Quang Phương
-
MSc. Đinh Nho Cảng
During the preparation of the handbook, these colleagues collaborated in structuring content, editing specialized sections, and ensuring consistency between theory and practice. The involvement of multiple IICM members highlights the Institute’s role not only in research but also in directly contributing reference knowledge to the BIM community.
Connecting Knowledge, Practice, and Development Orientation
The publication of the BIM Application Handbook 2025 reflects the spirit of connecting three pillars: government management, business, and academic/research institutions. With IICM’s role in this publication, we aim to serve as a bridge between theoretical knowledge and practical application in construction projects.
For IICM, being co-authors of this handbook is a modest yet strategically significant contribution to disseminating BIM knowledge in Vietnam. We believe that when knowledge is systematized, standardized, and widely shared, the construction community will have a solid foundation to adopt digital technologies, improve project management efficiency, reduce risks, and enhance construction quality.
Looking Ahead
IICM is honored that its members were invited as co-authors to compile the BIM Application Handbook 2025. We hope this handbook will become a reliable reference for all organizations and individuals working in Vietnam’s construction sector. Moving forward, IICM remains committed to continuing research, providing support, connecting experts, and accompanying the BIM community, contributing to digital transformation, professionalizing construction activities, and integrating with international standards.
